Are you ready to lace up your shoes, hit the pavement, and transform from couch potato to 5K runner?
Join me, Dezarae Grant, a nurse, fitness, and yoga instructor in the community for a fun and supportive journey towards achieving your running goals, all while prioritizing injury prevention and safe progression.
Program Overview:
Purpose:
This program is designed for individuals who are new to running or returning after a long hiatus and want to build up their endurance to complete a 5K race. Led by me, a passionate running enthusiast with a background in nursing, fitness, and yoga instruction, the focus is on gradual progression, injury prevention, and creating a supportive environment for all participants.
Structured Approach:
We start off with gentle power walking sessions for the initial weeks to allow your body to adapt to physical activity and cardiovascular exercise. As we progress, we gradually introduce running intervals, alternating between walking and running to build endurance while minimizing the risk of injury.
Injury Prevention:
Throughout the program, I'll provide guidance on proper warm-up and cool-down techniques, stretching exercises, and form tips to help prevent common running injuries. Drawing on my nursing background, I'll prioritize safety and ensure you're progressing safely and comfortably.
Personalized Coaching:
As the sole instructor, I'll tailor the program to suit the needs and abilities of each participant. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some previous running experience, my expertise as a fitness and yoga instructor will allow me to provide personalized coaching and support to help you reach your goals and build confidence in your running abilities.
Community Support:
While this may be an individual journey, you won't be doing it alone. Our group will serve as a source of motivation, encouragement, and camaraderie as we progress through the program together.
